Working with the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Institute and Boulder-based Dr. Julie Stapleton, MD, the Association strives to offer affordable hyperbaric oxygen therapy to those who have suffered a brain injury. The Association works with other members of our community to offer assistance to those seeking this supplemental treatment. Since research has already been done regarding the positive effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, the Associaiton is able to focus its energies on the treatments and well being of it's clients.
The Association offers financial assistance for HBOT treatments to our veterans who suffer from PTSD. Research has already been conducted regarding the positive effects of HBOT for veterans with PTSD. This enables RMHABI to focus all funds from the Healing our Heroes Fund to be directed towards HBOT treatments. To review the results, please click on the link:
At any given time, up to 20% of the American population under age 50 years is unable to work due to temporary illness or disability. 17% of children under 18 years of age have developmental disabilities that result in substantial financial and social costs. 18% of Americans have some disability, with 12% presenting a severe disability. Children with neurological injuries or impairment cost, on average, 2.1 time as much to educate as non-injured children. Early treatment could reduce the cost of education of special needs children by as much as $55.7 billion dollars every year, not to mention cost savings in health and related expense. Assistance in receiving hyperbaric treatment is invaluable to those who currently drive at least two hours to the nearest major medical treatment facilities. Cost in seeking treatment is prohibitive for many, particularly considering modest wages for workers, lost work for those seeking medical assistance, expense of medical treatments and costs of travel and lodging for patients receiving repeat treatments. The HBOT for Brain Injuries Fund assists those who need financial assistance for HBOT treatments.
The mission of RMHABI is to not only offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy but to also educate our community regarding the positive effects of HBOT. Through events, collaborative efforts and one-on-one sessions and educational in-services, RMHABI is able to offer the most up to date information regarding HBOT.
RMHABI offers financial assistance based on a sliding scale. For those who do not qualify, the Association will assist families in raising funds for HBOT treatments. The Association will help in sponsoring fund raising events, collecting tax-deductible donations that are earmarked for specific patients of the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Institute and researching other funding options through other philanthropic organizations.
RMHABI will help in securing lodging at the best rate possible for those traveling to the Boulder area for HBOT treatments. The Association can also assist in finding organizations that may provide financial assistance to those who are traveling to receive treatments.
These are two of the three chambers currently being used at the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Institute. These HYOx monoplace chambers have a proven safety track record and can be run more efficiently and economically than more expensive oxygen compressed chambers, yet they deliver the same desired results.
