Welcome to the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Association for Brain Injuries. The Association is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on assisting those effected with a brain injury to be able to afford hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in order to supplement their current medical protocol. The Association works with the Rocky Mountain community to assure that our clients receive the best possible medical protocol regarding their hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
What We Do
Working with the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Institute and Boulder-based Dr. Julie Stapleton, MD, the Association strives to offer affordable hyperbaric oxygen therapy to those who have suffered a brain injury. The Association works with other members of our community to offer assistance to those seeking this supplemental treatment. Since research has already been done regarding the positive effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, the Associaiton is able to focus its energies on the treatments and well being of it's clients.
Our Programs
We have three main programs to assist with funding for hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments.
Healing our Heroes Program pays for HBOT treatments and provides housing for out-of-town veterans while they are reciving treatments in Louisville.

HBOT for Brain Injuries Program assists in paying for HBOT for those who qualify for assistance. For those who do not qualify, we will assist in fundraising efforts to help our clients be able to afford HBOT treatments.

How HBOT works
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a FDA approved medical treatment which enhances the body's natural healing process by inhalation of 100% oxygen in a chamber where the atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled. It has been employed for decades to treat a variety of conditions but is particularly useful in the fields of neurology and wound care. The treatment process is safe, painless and comfortable and has few side effects.

When brain cells die or are damaged by traumatic brain injury (TBI), abilities controlled by that area of the brain are lost. These abilities include speech, movement and memory. How a TBI patient is affected depends on where the injury occurs in the brain and how much the brain is damaged.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) delivers oxygen enriched blood to areas of the brain affected by brain injury. These blood cells activate idling neurons, allowing them to take over the functions of the dead cells. This allows a patient to regain functions to parts of the body which have become compromised by the brain injury.
